MEMBERS & GUESTS PROTOCOLS

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the COVID-19, the agent causing Coronavirus, as an international public health emergency.

In order to prevent the risk of transmission of Coronavirus between our employees and our Members and Customers, an Internal Protocol was developed that defines the necessary prevention, control and monitoring procedures. This ensures the requirements set by Portugal’s Tourist Office are met, in accordance with the guidelines of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) that allows us to consider it Fairways a Healthy and Safe Establishment (Clean & Safe).

This protocol is for members and guests, it extracts relevant information from the Internal Protocol and its objective is to inform all our members and guests of the behaviours to be adopted as well as the access conditions for the different services provided during your stay at Fairways.

SOCIAL CONDUCT

  • HAND HYGIENE
    Suitable hand washing with soap and water several times a day or whenever warranted, for at least 20 seconds, or use of alcohol-based cleaning solution.
  • RESPIRATORY ETIQUETTE
    Do not cough or sneeze into your hands or in the air. You should do it into the fold of the elbow with the forearm, or use disposable tissues.
  • SOCIAL DISTANCING
    Distance from other people (employees or guests) should be at least 1 metre outdoors, and 2 metres indoors. When this is not possible, you should avoid face-to-face contact.
    Making contact when greeting someone (handshakes, hugs, etc.) is not permitted, nor is socialising in groups if not from the same household.
  • SELF-MONITORING OF SYMPTOMS
    The most common symptoms are a high temperature (38°or greater), persistent cough (or worsening of an existing cough) and breathing difficulties. Everyone should monitor their own symptoms and if you experience any of the above you should immediately contact SNS number 808 24 24 24 and stay in you villa awaiting further instructions. You should also inform reception immediately so we can follow the procedures in the company’s contingency plan.
  • INDIVIDUAL PROTECTION
    It is mandatory to wear a mask whenever you are indoors or in contact with employees, members or other guests.
  • The use of a mask in public outdoor spaces is compulsory from the 28th October onwards when the recommended social distancing cannot be guaranteed. Visors are not accepted as an alternative and this measure is applicable to persons 10 years or older. Non-compliant persons may incur a fine between 100 and 500 euros. Exceptions have been authorised for persons living in the same household, when not in contact with a third party, or holders of a medical certificate justifying the non-use of a mask.

PREVENTION PROCEDURES

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

For safety reasons, transportation for members and guests is not available.

SECURITY

  • It is recommended that the access to the resort is made by members and guests only. The security guard will need to see your membership card, or have your name and villa number;
  • Anyone entering the resort will have their body temperature measured using an infrared thermometer, for which we thank you for your cooperation. There will be no registering, this is only a safety and precautionary measure;

RECEPTION

  • At the entrance of the clubhouse there will be alcohol-based cleaning solution, please disinfect your hands before entering;
  • At the reception desk please ensure the recommended social distancing to avoid close contact between the employee, other members or guests;
  • Should you not have a mask with you, we will provide a one-off welcome kit with protective gear. You will be able to acquire further masks and other hygiene material from the mini-market during your stay.
  • Only one person per accommodation unit may approach the desk for check in/check out. The remaining guests in your party should wait outside, maintaining social distancing;
  • The porters will clean/disinfect:
    • Luggage before it is transported or stored, should you not agree with this process the porter will not be able to handle your luggage.
    • Buggies after guests or luggage transportation.
  • Before and after the rental of bicycles we clean them together with any additional equipment (helmets, etc.). All bike reservations must be confirmed at least 24h in advance so we can ensure the equipment is sanitised;
  • Payment for the services used during your stay should be made by signing off to your villa account or made by credit card to avoid payment in cash;

GOLF SHOP (open from 09:00 to 13:30 and from 14:00 to 17:00)

  • At the golf shop counter, please ensure the recommended social distancing to avoid close contact between the employee and other guests;
  • Maximum capacity within the Golf shop is 2 people (excluding employees);
  • Please wear a mask and use the alcohol-based cleaning solution to disinfect your hands upon entering and exiting the shop;
  • Bookings should be made by telephone or any digital format available to reduce to the minimum the visits to the shop;
  • Rental equipment is sanitised before delivery and after return;
  • Sales items are regularly cleaned;
  • Garments that have been tried on but not purchased and returns are quarantined for 48 hours;

RESTAURANTS AND BAR

  • Bar (open from 08:00 to 23:00)
    • Stools at the counter area have been removed, it is not permitted to stay by the counter;
    • The number of seats in the lounge have been limited to allow social distancing according to the regulations in force;
    • No snacks are offered with drinks;
    • Please ensure you keep contact/communication with employees to the essential;
    • Pens, menus, counter, tables and chairs are sanitised after each use;
    • Please use the alcohol-based cleaning solution to disinfect your hands upon entering and exiting the Bar;
    • The use of a mask in an enclosed space is mandatory, and you may remove it to take your meal or drink;

  • Restaurant (open from 08:00 to 21:45)
    • The number of tables in VIVO and AMARA has been reduced in order to allow social distancing according to the regulations in force;
    • Please use the alcohol-based cleaning solution to disinfect your hands upon entering and exiting the restaurant;
    • It is obligatory to pre-book or confirm table availability by telephone before you make your way to the restaurant;
    • Please ensure you keep contact/communication with employees to the essential;
    • Your table mise en place only takes place in your presence;
    • We use disposable napkins, preferably pre-packaged or individually packaged napkins;
    • Pens, menus, surfaces, tables, and all other items are sanitised after use;
    • Digital menus are optionally available;
    • Utensils, surfaces, benches and other frequently handled objects are regularly sanitised;
    • Payment should be made by signing off to your villa account or made by credit card to avoid payment in cash.
    • We are offering a wide take away menu with delivery to your villa without additional fees, please make sure you make your order in advance by telephone or any digital format available; the delivery service is available between 09:00 and 21:00 and must be pre-ordered with at least one hour in advance.

POOLS AND JACUZZI (open from 08:00 to 19:00)

  • Pools
    • The number of loungers have been reduced by half and are arranged to allow a safe distance (2m). There is an exception for members or guests who share the same villa or family members up to 5 people, ensuring a safe distance is kept from other guests;
    • Gloves are used when placing towels on top of your lounger;
    • Pools are sanitised daily according to the applicable procedures (with the appropriate amount of chlorine). Chlorine is kept at the highest possible level within legal limits;
    • The pool surfaces are cleaned daily and disinfected every week, or whenever is justified by use;
    • Loungers and parasols are sanitised before and after use;
    • It is recommended the use of swimming goggles inside the pools;
    • Members and guests are required to:
      • Wear flip-flops;
      • Shower immediately before entering the pool.
    • A maximum of 4 people may remain in the indoor pool at any one time;
    • Employees must maintain social distancing from guests and keep minimum contact.

  • Jacuzzi
    • The Jacuzzi, Turkish Bath and Sauna remain out of service;

GYM (open from 08:00 to 19:00)

  • Please disinfect your hands with the provided alcohol-based cleaning solution upon entering and exit the gym.
  • Ensure you clean and disinfect the equipment before and after use;
  • The capacity of the gym is six people at any one time (three in each room), maintaining social distancing;
  • Group classes are not held in the gym, only outdoors maintaining social distancing;
  • Cleaning and sanitisation is carried out in accordance with established standards;
  • It is mandatory to wear a mask whenever you are indoors and it is recommended that you keep wearing the mask whilst exercising as much as possible, but it is not obligatory.
  • The use of the changing rooms is not allowed, you may only access the lockers and toilets.

TENNIS COURTS (open from 08:00 to 19:00)

  • Access to the Tennis Courts is made by pre-booking through reception;
  • The maximum limit is 4 people per tennis court, maintaining the recommended social distance.
  • Before each use the cleaning of equipment with the appropriate products is carried out, namely rackets and tennis balls.

MINI-MARKET (open from 08:00 to 17:00)

  • Maximum capacity: 2 guests;
  • Wearing of mask is obligatory inside the mini-market;
  • Please disinfect your hands with the provided alcohol-based cleaning solution upon entering and exiting the mini-market;
  • At the counter please keep the recommended social distancing to avoid close contact with the employee and other guests;
  • Please make your orders by telephone or by digital means to reduce the number of visits to the mini-market. We are offering a delivery service to the villa, or alternatively you may collect your shopping from the mini-market at an agreed time; the delivery service is available between 09:00 and 16:30 and must be pre-ordered with at least one hour in advance;
  • Payment should be made by signing off to your villa account or made by credit card to avoid payment in cash.
  • The facilities and objects are regularly sanitised in accordance with the recommended regulations;

KIDSCLUB & CRECHE (open from 09:30 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00)

  • It is mandatory to pre-book 24 hours in advance by digital means or by telephone;
  • Maximum capacity: 6 children and 2 babies;
  • Children are welcomed at the entrance door. Parents are not allowed inside the facilities;
  • Temperature measurement is performed via infrared thermometer upon arrival of the children;
  • The entertainment programme includes:
    • Individual activities, so as to keep children at a distance, allowing social distancing according to the rules in force;
    • Outdoor activities maintaining social distancing.
  • We ensure whenever possible that children do not share objects or that they are sanitised in between uses;
  • Surfaces, tools, and all equipment/items are sanitised after use.
  • We encourage frequent hand washing and/or disinfection of both children and employees;
  • Employees are instructed to be alert to any signs of symptoms that children may present and inform parents and management immediately.
  • The facilities, equipment, toys and tools are sanitised according to the established standards.
  • Babies are allowed to bring a change of clothes or utensils, however these will need to be disinfected on arrival.

PLAYGROUND (KIDS AND TEENAGERS)

  • These facilities remains closed until further notice.

CLUB ROOM

  • All information in paper format has been removed to avoid transmission through contact;
  • The capacity is limited to a maximum of 6 people simultaneously (snooker players included), maintaining social distancing;
  • snooker table:
    • Maximum of two people per game, maintaining social distancing;
    • Equipment (cues, balls, table and scoreboard) are cleaned and disinfected after each use.
  • The internet room has a maximum capacity of 1 person (or 2 in case of the same family).

PUBLIC AREAS

  • All customer service areas (entrance hall, club room, WC, corridors, stairwells, furniture, etc.) are clean and sanitised and disinfected according to established standards;
  • Cleaning of the most critical equipment has been reinforced (which are handled more frequently) such as handles, surfaces, switches, amongst others.

HOUSEKEEPING

  • Your villa will be cleaned and sanitised before arrival, following this process the villa will be sealed “Clean & Safe” to guarantee that no one enters the villa before your arrival;
  • Daily cleaning service is not available. Change of linen and towels will be made once in the week;
  • Housekeeping in the villa is carried out without the presence of guests inside, please be so kind to make time for these duties to be made to your villa;
  • The surfaces, floors, bathrooms are sanitised with the appropriate products, with special attention to taps, bathtub handles and countertops;
  • All information in paper format has been removed from the villa to avoid transmission through contact;
  • Please ensure you keep contact/communication with employees to the essential;

MAINTENENACE & GARDENS

  • Visits by the maintenance team to an occupied villa are carried out without the guests’ presence. We thank you for your cooperation in making this possible
  • Please ensure you keep contact/communication with employees to the essential;

AMELIA’S HAIRDRESSER & BEAUTY THERAPY/MASSAGES (open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 19:00)

  • Maximum capacity in each facility is 2 people (excluding employees);
  • These services are by pre-appointment only;
  • The use of a mask is mandatory;
  • Pease use the alcohol-based cleaning solution to disinfect your hands upon entering the facilities;
  • Maintain the adequate social distance to other guests and employees.
  • Magazines and other paper information has been removed to avoid transmission through contact, only disposable price lists are kept for single use;
  • Single use disposable material (hairdresser overalls, gloves, massage table covers, etc.);
  • The material for regular use such scissors, brushes and other utensils are sterilised and disinfected in appropriate sterilizers;
  • Cleaning and space sanitizing, including surfaces, chairs, door handles, etc., are carried out between each service;
